To keep them in tip top condition, always wipe them clean after use with a clean cloth soaked in lukewarm water. Harsh chemicals may erode the rubber’s protective coating. Start at the top and work your way down; don’t rub them too hard or use any abrasive cloths or scrubbers. From time to time, you may need to give the inside of your wellies the once over. Use a solution of mild dish soap and water and apply with a clean cloth. Use a separate cloth to remove any excess solution. Let them air dry naturally. As tempting as it is to stick them next to a warm radiator or boiler, this may cause them to dry and crack. If your wellies are super soggy, never leave them damp as this encourages mould. Allow them to air dry for at least 24 to 48 hours; you can speed up the drying process by stuffing them with some old newspaper, which will also help to maintain their shape.

Resist the urge to fold them and always store them upright in a well ventilated and cool area, away from direct, strong light (ultraviolet light may degrade the rubber).

People often buy a size up when buying wellies thinking they need to accommodate some big socks but this can often lead to a loose fit and potential rubbing. Our wellies are ‘true to size’ meaning that whilst it’s important to wear a pair of comfortable insulating socks you don’t need to slide on three pairs before you’ve even got your foot in.
